Cecilia Aisin-Gioro, also known as Hengqin Aixinjuelu , is a descendant of China’s last imperial family. She belongs to the Heng generation of the Aisin Gioro family and is the great-niece of the Chinese last emperor, Puyi.

Cecilia’s artistic journey began at the tender age of five, fueled by a lifelong passion for painting. Her royal lineage provided her with early exposure to the esteemed traditions of fine brushwork and watercolor painting prevalent in the court.

Born during the tumultuous period of China’s Cultural Revolution, Cecilia faced the early loss of her parents and was subsequently raised by her grandmother. She later lived with her aunt while attending school in Changchun before returning to her birthplace, Beijing. Cecilia is academically accomplished, holding a bachelor’s degree in Heritage and Museum Studies, a master’s degree in professional history from Jilin University, and an MBA from Tsinghua University. Her career highlights include prestigious roles at the Shenyang Palace Museum and the Shanghai Museum, where she was invited to become the personal assistant to the renowned Chinese artist Chen Yifei, sparking her interest in oil painting.

In 2001, Cecilia immigrated to Canada and established her own international education consulting firm. In 2014, she was invited to represent some of her family’s artists at Art Vancouver exhibition , and subsequently founded the Aisin Gioro Fine Art Gallery.

As the sole oil painter in the Aisin Gioro family, Cecilia’s work aims to transcend mere visual expression. She seeks to explore and convey traditional Oriental aesthetic concepts through painting, bridging cultural divides and expressing ideas that words cannot capture.

Cecilia’s artworks have received international acclaim and are held in private collections across the United States, Mexico, Monaco, France, the United Kingdom, Iran, Philippines, and Japan. Her works have also been exhibited in various galleries and museums. She continually seeks inspiration in her creative research, blending tradition with modern innovation to produce superior works.
